The new mount tools, A23S and A24S, are developments of the A23 and A24 mount tools. The nozzle in each tool is suspended by a spring, which enables it to pick and place components with up to a 30 percent higher speed, maintained precision and care. These three factors give higher production throughput, together with added quality.

The new tools make use of MYDATA's ISIC (Intelligent Surface Impact Control), which insures the components are handled with complete safety. Sophisticated software and DC servos used on all five machine axes combine to provide a controlled contact force.

Accuracy with the new tools is unaffected, as the tools have been designed without compromise. All moving parts are without play and have been pre-tensioned. The ability to change the tool tips ensures the tool will have a longer life. The tips can be replaced with a puller tool, which is supplied with the mount tools.

The A23S has a 3 mm tip and is suitable for SO16, SO18, SO20, and Flat Pack 80 packages. The top mounting speed for SO16 with the A23S is 4900 CPH. The A24S has a 5 mm tip and is suitable for LCCC, PLCC and QFP packages and the top mounting speed for LQFP80 with A24S is 3900 CPH.
