The collaboration will see MYDATA place its SMT knowledge and MY-Series machines at the disposal of Chalmers and Shanghai Universities. The exchange with the SMIT-Center allows MYDATA to follow the very latest developments in the field of electronics production techniques.
"The future will make new demands in fields like lead-free soldering, more advanced building technology and higher demands on quality and yield," says Paul Rooimans, Managing Director of MYDATA Benelux, United Kingdom and Ireland. "MYDATA has a long tradition of co-operation with universities and research institutes, and this collaboration with SMIT-Center is therefore a natural step in our development," he added.
"At present we are studying how the reliability and quality of soldering seams are affected by the assembly time and the assembly pressure. The co-operation has already resulted in some very valuable data," he concluded
