Step 1
The revolutionary feeder

Agilis feeders are small, robust and easy to handle. They can be easily loaded and unloaded in 10 seconds or less by simply inserting or pulling out the tape. This is possible because the feeder has a patented plow action that lifts rather than removes the cover tape, exposing the component to be picked by the mounthead. The empty tape is then pushed out the back of the machine along with the cover tape. Agilis feeders are now available not only for 8 mm tape, but for 12 and 16 mm tape as well.

Step 2
Smart feeders for fast changeovers

Each feeder has its own unique feeder identity chip. Simply scan the barcodes to pair the feeder ID with the loaded tape reel. This way, the operating system, TPSys, knows the exact position of each tape, wherever you insert the feeder, and no matter where you place the magazine. The feeders also keep track of how many components are left. This information can then be used for inventory purposes, e.g., sent to your ERP system. You can now make fast and accurate changeovers without having to worry about placing a feeder in the wrong position.

Step 3
Quick changeovers with handy bins

Agilis magazines hold tape reel bins for quick and easy feeder changes. The 8 mm magazine holds two bins and the 12/16 mm a single, larger bin. Each bin accommodates up to 16 reels and features slots for parking the feeders. Made from aluminium, they are lightweight and easy to handle. As many customers have discovered, these bins are compact and prepared for labelling so you can easily store them ready on shelves next to your machine. And by storing the most frequently used feeders pre-loaded, you can save significant time during production.

Step 4
Plug-and-play magazines

The Agilis magazine is very easy to handle. Simply park the feeders in their slots, close the safety lock and plug the magazine into any machine position. The operating system, TPSys, instantly locates all feeders and components. In addition, the magazine has a front panel of LEDs. This makes it easy for the operator to monitor the status of each feeder and reel. Should a component run out during production, this ergonomic magazine can be easily replenished while the machine is running. This ensures maximum machine uptime and high productivity.

Step 5
Agilis is now a complete family

Agilis is a system that consists of feeders, bins and magazines. The 12 and 16 mm feeders can be mixed freely in the same magazine, while the 8 mm feeders have their own magazine. The 8 mm feeders come in four sizes, depending on the size of the component tape pockets. The 12 and 16 mm feeders are available in 2 sizes each, one small and the other adjustable. The system includes large reel attachments for optional placement of 13” reels. All these Agilis parts work together to cover up to 90% of your components.

Step 6
Time savings with Agilis

As many customers have experienced, using Agilis really does cut your set-up and changeover times significantly. How much time you save, of course, depends on the type of production you are running. But in an average production line, operators load and unload about 200 feeders per day for 8, 12 and 16 mm tape. Compared to standard feeders on the market, this means that close to 3 operator hours can be saved each day thanks to Agilis, which takes just 10 seconds to load. In just one week that is 15 hours saved. Imagine what you could do with that time instead of loading feeders!
